Story
Tony Goodwin (CEO of Antal International) will be taking part in the biggest half marathon in the world, the Great North Run on the 10th September 2017.
Tony has targeted to raise £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation; he states “I want to raise money for the British Heart Foundation because there is an issue with heart disease in my family and my father had a heart attack at the age of 54, this is why I am running and raising funds for all those families who have heart conditions and heart issues”.
Last year Tony ran a total of 13.1 miles in just under 1:58:38, in 2011 he ran a total of 1h 53m and is hoping to beat last years’ time, he will also be competing against Gattaca’s CEO Brian Wilkinson who is raising money for Alzheimer’s disease.
The Great North Run stretches across 13 miles, passing the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishing at the coastal town of South Shields.
All money raised will be donated to the charity ''British Heart Foundation'', the leading heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research.
Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer but they are leading the fight against it. BHF's pioneering research has helped to transform the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions.
