Tony Chapman is raising money for TackleAfrica
Story
After the resounding success of the 2009 football marathon, culminating in Tony Chappers scoring a hat-trick in the final of the shield, we are putting ourselves through another 12 hours of hell on Clapham Common to raise more money for the charity Tackle Africa Tackle Africa – www.tackleafrica.org.
Sponsor me as much or as little as you like. Don’t sponsor me at all if you wish, I don’t mind. But remember, for every gold piece you donate, an African child is saved from HIV (this is not strictly be true.… but I’m sure it will help).

Last year, 270 players played 363 games of football in a single day, raising over £70,000 in the process. All the money raised goes directly to TackleAfrica, helping run long term programmes in 6 different African countries (Uganda, Ghana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa) helping young people affected by and at risk of HIV. TackleAfrica train local coaches, peer educators and youth leaders to use the TackleAfrica training manual to deliver HIV messages to young people through football coaching. TackleAfrica are run almost entirely by volunteers and every penny we raise makes a huge difference to the people and organisations inAfricathat we support.
