Ex-RAF and RN (Mainly RN) at the age of 54 with my weight and drinking out of control, in May 2022, I decided to do something about it. I gave up drinking completely and joined Manvfat football and place myself of a diet. My weight has dropped from 101 kg to under 80kg, I restarted my running and have undertaken a number of half marathons and I'm ready for the next step forward and what better even than an old friend the London Marathon. I wanted a charity that I had an affiliation to and being ex Service, I chose the British Forces Foundation (BFF). After all, the least we can do is support the people serving our country so if I can help in any way I can, I am only to please to do so.

The British Forces Foundation exists to boost the morale of British servicemen and women – principally on operations but all over the world – primarily through top quality entertainment with big name stars. The shows, and the Charity’s other projects, convey the gratitude of the British public for the work of the Armed Forces and the sacrifices they make.

Our Armed Forces serve with immense professionalism in the most challenging environments across the world. Working under pressure for months at a time, thousands of miles from home and often witnessing traumatic events, places a unique strain on individuals that can ultimately affect both them and their loved ones, for years. Maintaining the morale of our serving personnel is vital to the welfare and effectiveness of the men and women who depend on each other every day. Help us to show them how much the public appreciate the sacrifices they, and their families, make every day.

The British Forces Foundation is entirely dependent on the generosity of the public, companies and institutions to finance our work. While the stars give their time and talent without charge the costs of delivering of high-quality shows is significant.

Your support is therefore vital to the BFF’s ongoing ability to reach our troops, thank them for their efforts and remind them that they have the respect and gratitude of the British public.
