Story
As you know Hospiscare, is a local end of life charity that is very close to my ❤️
I haven’t jumped out of a plane or abseiled down the South West’s highest waterfall (Canonteign Falls) recently so thought it was about time I challenged myself.
This September, I've been roped into pushing myself and taking on another challenge, all to help raise vital funds to help support local families during the most difficult of times. I'll be ascending to new heights, taking my courage in both hands and making the 110ft descent off Meldon Viaduct to the valley floors below.
I am doing this challenge as I have seen all aspects of services Hospiscare provides. I feel privileged to have worked alongside such “angels” in the Clinical team at Kings House Outreach Centre in Honiton since 2014.
Having worked in the fundraising team since 2019, I know only to well how difficult it has been financially for the charity. Hopefully the money I raise will help continue to provide the specialist services Hospiscare provide in Exeter, Mid and East Devon and at our 12 bedded ward in Exeter.
Hospiscare teams of doctors and nurses offer specialist palliative and end-of-life care, to ensure that patients can make the most of the time they have left. They're a really important part of the local healthcare system and as a charity, they rely on donations to keep their services going.
In Dec 2021 the East Devon Team supported my family, showing kindness, patience, warmth and compassion to my dad allowing him to stay at home and fall asleep forever, I am forever grateful not only for them looking after him but also supporting my lovely mum and my sister.
I know the last couple of years have been difficult, but whatever you can give however big or small, it really will make a difference.
Thank you 🙏
