Story
In the UK, about 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.
It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. More than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year - that's 129 men every day!! Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer - that's more than 11,500 men every year.
As I personally know more than 1 person that has been directly or indirectly affected by this disease, I have decided to take on a personal challenge in 2021 to help raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
As you may already know, I tend to do a 'bit of running', but this challenge is by far the biggest running challenge I have entered to date.
Not only is it 100K (62.2 miles) in distance, it will also involve an elevation climb over the route of 2170m (7,120 feet), which is the equivalent of climbing Snowdon twice over.
My training starts on May 17th and will be an intense 16 weeks, covering a total distance of 592 miles BEFORE the actual event.
Prostate Cancer UK is also my employers (Briggs Equipment UK Ltd) chosen charity of the year for 2021, so please support me to raise money for this fantastic cause. Any donation will help.
