Story
Ok so Saturday the 18th was supposed to be guildford 12; swim one mile on the hour, every hour, for 12 hours. Its a sizeble swim. In fact if a ten km swim is a "marathon", this is 19.2km...so its nearly a double marathon! Then covid struck...and everything got cancelled.
Stay at home they said; swimmers everywhere cried and put up their paddling pools to get their fix! Well my paddling pool has a four horsepower hydraulic pump at one end. I can set the water for 1min 44 per hundred...and swim a mile in my target guildford pace of 28 minutes.
Next weekend, I literally have nothing better to do than try and swim my 12miles, on a treadmill, in my shed. Its gonna be somewhere between awesome and horrific!
Thought Id stick up a cheeky little just giving; obviously theres only one place in could go in the current climate so fingers crossed by the end of the day there will be a few quid on it to give something back to all the brave folks fighting this horrible virus!
