Story
2000km in 17 days. One single-speed bicycle.
Cycling around France in a race against time, to watch the beautiful game in four different cities during the European Championships 2016.
My journey will take me from the Round-of-sixteen all the way to the Final, circumnavigating France from Lens to Bordeaux to Marseille and finally to Paris.
Although extremely excited, I am incredibly nervous as I attempt to take on the challenge whilst couch-surfing and camping my way through the country; on a meager budget that (will hopefully) pay for a meal or two, here or there.
I will be blogging about my journey as the time gets closer, whilst also attempting to record my trip as I go, and will post a link on this page when everything is set up!
For a long time now I have wanted to do something in memory of my Nana, who before she passed away was diagnosed with dementia, a terrible disease that damages the brain and therefore memory. My idea is to "do something memorable" in the hope of raising some money to eradicate a disease that takes those all important memories away. Every penny counts and all donations will continue to drive me forward on my way to the Stade de France and the Final!
Thanks for all your support!
