Story

I'm spending a long weekend fully blindfolded. If you would like to sponsor me, I'd appreciate a donation to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

[NOTE: Due to the brilliant response so far, I've increased the target amount to £100. Thanks everyone!]

My research (at the University of Sussex) is all about accessibility and blindness. I decided that I wanted to get a better understanding of the practical issues of being blind. To this end, I'm spending a long weekend fully blindfolded. I'll be putting on the blindfold on Friday morning and won't be taking it off (at all) until Monday afternoon.

I've been recruiting "guide dogs" to supervise me all weekend, while I try and perform some normal weekend activities. For this reason, I thought it'd be appropriate to ask people to consider donating a few pounds to the guide dogs association.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
