Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My mother has suffered with dementia for a number of years. Unfortunately she no longer knows who I am, or any of my family, which is really tough, especially for my father who cares for her.
I believe the Alzheimer's Society are really making a difference to the way people with dementia are treated. We've certainly benefited from their knowledge and support.
So, I wanted to give something back. I've often come across signs for the Sirhowy Valley Walk when out with my dog, Sally, in the countryside near my home in South Wales. The Sirhowy Valley Walk starts near Tredegar, then takes a challenging 27 mile route along various terrains, including over mountains, alongside the river and along disused railway lines. It finishes at the historic Tredegar House near Newport.
On Saturday 22 September I'll be walking the route with my sons, Thomas, George and Matt, aiming to complete the walk before it gets dark!
I'd be most grateful for any sponsorship, no matter how much – as they say, “every little helps”.
Please remember to click on the 'Gift Aid' field. It won't cost you any extra but it means that the Inland Revenue will give the Alzheimer's Society 28p for every £1 donated.
