Story
Our beautiful daughter Nuala Sarah Louise Williams was born sleeping on 05/08/2023. We had been through 38+2 weeks of pregnancy when we found out she no longer had a heartbeat after reduced and then no movement during the day.
Since the loss of our beautiful daughter we have been fortunate enough to receive amazing counselling from Petals, the baby loss counselling charity, that has allowed us a safe space to remember Nuala, grieve, communicate with each other and understand how we can keep moving forward whilst carrying Nuala’s memory with us.
I will be running the Brighton Marathon in April to help raise money so that other families that go through this heartbreaking loss can also receive the important counselling that we have and help them on their journey through the pain and grief.
What do Petals do?
They provide specialist counselling service for women, men and couples who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby.It is a sad reality that in the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, 1 in 200 babies will be stillborn every year, over 5000 pregnancies will be terminated for medical reasons each year and 24 babies die shortly after birth every single week. Since Petals began its incredible work, thousands of couples have been supported by their counsellors and in the last 12 months alone they have delivered over 5,200 counselling sessions. By supporting this challenge you will be helping Petals to deliver more vital counselling sessions to bereaved parents when they need it the most.
