Story
ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who’ve been treated by Evelina London and its network hospitals across the UK. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey from the moment of diagnosis through childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services. ECHO provides practical and emotional support and welcomes families into a community of shared experience and understanding, at times when there is little other help available.
On Sunday 10th April 2022, AS Camboli football club will be raising money for The Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation (ECHO) and Little Stars, Frimley Park Hospital neonatal ward in our annual 'Legends v Current squad' for the ECHO TROPHY
AS Camboli are a fantastic local amateur football team that have been established in the local community for over 14 years. We have had some brilliant individuals and wonderful people play for us and we are delighted to support ECHO for all the wonderful work they do to support children and their families. Our son, Daniel, was born with congenital heart defects that required corrective surgery at birth. Daniel underwent two lifesaving operations at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London shortly after birth. Our family are indebted to ECHO for all their support during this difficult time, as well as the Evelina hospital and the many wonderful staff there who saved Daniel’s life. There are many players and families associated with AS Camboli that have experienced the wonderful care and support that Frimley Park Hospital's neonatal ward provides. We are delighted to share our fundraising efforts with Little Stars too.
Every penny from the match including ticket sales, player sponsorship, mascots, raffles etc. will be going to The Evelina Children's Heart Organisation and Little Stars, Frimley Park Hospital neonatal ward. The work that they all do to help other children and their families (including the ongoing support for families and children like Daniel) will benefit directly with all the money raised from the match.
You are invited to show your support for the match and the charity by sponsoring players, buying a ticket for the match, becoming a mascot for the day, taking part in the match itself or any of the activities we hope to have organised on the day. Volunteers to help and fundraising ideas are also welcome! All donations, however small, make a difference. On behalf of our family and the wider AS Camboli family, we thank you very much for your contributions and support.
