Story
Swapping the streets of East Yorkshire for the jungle of Sierra Leone; I'm running this years Street Child Marathon in support of this amazing charity. With 30 degree heat and up to 90% humidity to contend with, it certainly won’t be an uneventful first foray into the world of marathon running. It will, however, be a fully worthwhile one supporting Street Child and the pivotal work that they do globally in their mission to give every child access to an education. Since 2008 Street Child has reached over 650K children through a series of education, protection and wider economic empowerment programmes in some of the worlds most vulnerable communities, and I want to help it do more.
I believe every child deserves the right to an education that I have enjoyed growing up. Unfortunately globally this just isn’t the case. When disaster strikes, and even more so in light of the COVID-19 legacy, its often the most in-need communities that are hit the hardest and access to education is one of the first things to suffer. This year, I'm raising money specifically for Street Childs COVID-19 Emergency Appeal to help assist these communities recover from the pandemic and start putting educational access back on the agenda.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people that know about Street Child, and their Emergency COVID-19 appeal, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
