Story
Access to the arts is becoming increasingly narrow. Many young people struggle to make their voices heard or break into increasingly exclusive industries. This is especially true of photography, where equipment and training can be prohibitively expensive. But, it has never been more important that people of all backgrounds can tell the stories they want/need to. Photography has the power to capture the imagination, tell a story and capture a moment in time. However, the next level of artistry is often out of reach.
Rob knew that better than anyone. Despite limited funds and being self-taught, he was rarely without his camera and his photographs captured moments that would otherwise have passed unnoticed. He was also a kind and generous person, always happy to share his passion, his skill and his time with anyone wanting to do the same. That’s why, in his memory, we’re raising funds to provide free tuition and equipment for 7-19 year olds (from beginners to advanced) under the banner “Music Art Study” - Rob’s photography company’s name
We want to empower young people to tell their stories, find their voice, and to learn a skill along the way. The funds raised will pay for workshops and taster sessions, school lunchtime clubs. We hope to help more young people develop a passion and love for photography so that Rob can live on in their stories and photographs, as well as his own.
