Why Alzheimer's Research?

Dementia, of which Alzheimers is the largest cause, is something that will have effected almost everyone either in their immediate family or friends. I have seen the debilitating effect of dementia in both sides of my family and in Louise's Grandad Bert. Both his health and that of my Gran (Margaret/Dot/Dragon) deteriorated rapidly in their last years and it left with me a real desire to do something useful towards combating this horrible disease. Any money that can be raised and directed towards research into the prevention, cause and treatment of Alzheimers is money well spent. So i ask you to stick your hand in your wallet and give generously in the memory of Bert Loxley, Dot Stokely, and anyone else that you know who is suffering with Dementia.

I am training and running with Mr Jon Tricker and i hope the thought of Jon and i setting off at 6am for a Saturday morning 15 mile run warms your heart. We are aiming for about 4 hours although Jon's nose will probably make the finish line about 10 minutes before that. Thanks for taking the time to read this and many thanks for sponsoring me.
