This year we would like to raise the salary of a nurse for the Sussex Beacon, to continue providing specialist care and support for people living with HIV, either recovering from medical treatment, getting help with new medication or seeking mental health support.
Brighton has the second highest HIV prevalence in the UK and access to specialist care and support is vital. Daily medication now means people can live well with HIV however, many suffer with secondary illnesses such as cancer or dementia, or the psychological effects from having been subjected to HIV stigma, social isolation and prejudice.
Supporting our campaign to raise the salary of a nurse will help us continue providing specialist HIV care for the most vulnerable in Brighton and Sussex. Thank you!
