Story
Five people of varying fitness levels set out this year to conquer 11 miles of mud, obstacles and the fear of cardiovascular exercise. All four runners had their own reasons for partaking alongside raising money for charity.
Ross - Wants to become the apex between man and beast
Tom - Wants motivation to be a healthier person and also Ross promised I could be a man/beast as well
Emily - Wants to beat Ross, Luke and Tom to the finish
Luke - Heard you got a free beer at the end
Elliot - Says yes to everything
But in all seriousness, mental health is such a critically under supported area of healthcare in the UK and we want to help any way we can to make that better. Suicide is the biggest killer in the UK for people between the ages of 20-34.
51% of young people feel they would be embarrassed if diagnosed with a mental illness. A stigma that really needs to go if we're going to make this better.
A mere 6% of healthcare funding goes towards mental health services despite it affecting 25% of the population. With 20% of people in the UK having suicidal thoughts this year. This is why charities such as mind are so important.
Please donate what you can or even just offer us some words of encouragement (we're going to need it).
Thanks,
Emily, Ross, Luke, Elliot and Tom
