We share the vision of an end to the pain & suffering of eating disorders

Story

In March I’m going to be running the Cambridge Half Marathon
in support of Beat. Beat do amazing work in supporting people with eating
disorders, as well as their families and loved ones. An estimated 1.25 million
people in the UK have an eating disorder- the effects can be devastating but
recovery is possible. It’s been 5 years since I was diagnosed with anorexia and
I feel so happy and lucky to say that I have recovered. An early diagnosis is
absolutely crucial in aiding recovery, which is why Beat’s work in raising
awareness for the early signs of an eating disorder is so important. Beat offer
a discreet ear to anyone who needs someone to talk to, via their helpline. I
will always be grateful for Beat for helping me to spot my own symptoms and get
help.

Any contribution is hugely appreciated!
