Despite never running further than 6 miles I have decided to do the Bupa Great South Run, its taking place on the 24th October 2010 around Portsmouth and Southsea. I'll be running the 10 miles in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week our coast is monitored by lifeboats and the vast majority of the crews are still volunteers. More and more of our beaches are also patrolled by lifeguards. They need all the help they can get to help those in danger at sea and for this they need money. It costs thousands to maintain the boats each year and keep up with technology of the sea. 

My family has a strong relationship with the RNLI, with my great Grandad, Grandad and Uncle all serving for the Gorleston and Great Yarmouth crew. My Uncle Des currently puts his life on the line to save others and its for this reason that I want to raise money for this very worthy cause.

So please, no matter how much, dig deep and donate now.
