I've decided to walk, run, scramble, stumble and, frankly, moan my way through 100 kilometres in 24 hours, in the name of 'fun' and charidee. I'd love to have your support as an incentive to keep going when the legs are throbbing and feet falling apart. I've decided to try and raise some money for The Christie; a specialist cancer hospital in Manchester which is very close to my heart.
The Christie was there for me when i had my little dance with the big C, back in 2011. Having access to such a fantastic, world renowned facility on my doorstep, helped me get through a very difficult time. But much more importantly, what i came away with from my time at The Christie was how huge an impact it has on so many people in much greater need than i had, providing incredible care, comfort and hope for thousands of people every year.
Please chuck a few quid my way and i grant you full privilege to drive past me in the Peaks and tell me to get a move on, or tell me to shut up after i've bored you with the story of my exploits, after the 100km is in the bag.
Thanks
Tom
