Story
I have an incurable condition called Cystinuria. My life with the condition has been full of ups and downs, but Sheffield Children's Hospital have always been there to help me along the way. From the surgeons fixing my kidney, my doctor giving me treatment, the nurses taking the best care of me and even the real-life clowns that came and made me laugh when I was feeling down, the hospital is simply the best.
When I was recovering from my operation at the hospital, I was lucky enough to be shown one of the air ambulances by a very kind paramedic. It was amazing! But unfortunately, the helicopters have to land in the local park and then children are taken across a busy road to get emergency treatment in the hospital. I was worried about poorly children having to wait to cross as I could see how busy the road was.
The Children's Hospital Charity are raising £6 million to build a helipad on the roof of the hospital. This will mean that children can get straight into the hospital to be treated and no child has to wait to cross the road, and I want to help them reach their target.
So, after I break up from school for Christmas, I'll be getting on my bike and cycling 96 miles, the distance from my house to the door of Sheffield Children's Hospital.
In 8 days, and finishing on Christmas Eve, I'll cycle the whole distance - whatever the weather.
I'd love it if you could support me on my Big Christmas Bike Ride.
