Welcome to the Ataxia Classic Team Fundraising Page! On Sunday 27 September our supporters are gathering together to take part in the Ataxia Classic to raise funds and awareness to support those affected by ataxia.

Story

On 26th September we will be dragging ourselves around a hilly (and hopefully not rainy) 100km route in the Lake District in aid of Ataxia UK. This is in place of taking part in the Ataxia Classic in Yorkshire that we were signed up to take part in.

'Ataxia' is a group of progressive neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination and speech, often from a young age. It can sometimes be described as similar to MS.

Unfortunately, ataxia affects a member of our family.

In almost all cases, there is no cure, but Ataxia UK provides support to those affected, helps with treatment to control the symptoms and funds research into the condition.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and invaluable to Ataxia UK and those the charity supports.

Thank you.

Laura and Tom

10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.
