Cardiff Half Marathon 2019 · 6 October 2019 ·

Help our expert researchers to further the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders which represent some of the greatest challenges to society.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I ran my first (and to date only) half marathon last year and entered thinking it would be a one-time only thing. But, as it turned out, I enjoyed it and have found running to be a great mechanism for helping to cope with the mental pressures of modern everyday life.

So, I've decided to run the Cardiff half again and to raise money for the very excellent Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute at Cardiff University.  Mental health matters.  According to the World Health Organisation, one in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. And we all have people in our lives who will struggle with mental health issues.  I really believe that the research being done by the University will make a big difference to the understanding and treatment of mental illness.
