Battersea Park Half Marathon · 14 May 2022
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
On the 14th of May I’ll be running the Battersea Half Marathon (love marathons, just couldn’t eat a whole one).
Despite being an award-winning (GCSE PE Prize, GCSE Religious Education Prize - The Forest School Horsham 2012) runner not unfamiliar with long-distance challenges, this will be my first run/race of this length and I’ll be running in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
TCT are a charity doing really great work supporting young people living with cancer. They’ve got units in pretty much every major NHS cancer treatment hospital in the UK, and work to make sure young people facing cancer have a space to feel at home, meet others going through similar experiences, welcome family and mates, and get really great care from specialist nurses and youth support teams. They also fund and support specialist outreach nurses who work regionally across the country, helping make sure every young person with cancer has access to expert care no matter where they are.
It’s an invaluable service that helps ensure that young people living with cancer do not have to face the experience alone.
As TCT doesn’t get any government or NHS funding, they instead rely on charitable donations to keep doing what they do. That’s where the running part comes in!
If you would like to donate to support the charity I’ve set up a Just Giving Page, and any kind of contribution at all would be massively appreciated!
