Story
Changes Bristol are Sift's chosen charity for 2020, supporting people in Bristol with much needed mental health support and guidance.
It's been really hard to raise funds this year, with everything that is going on. We all wanted to do more, but the usual football competitions, bake sales and office related fundraisers have not been possible.
With only have a few months of 2020 left and I thought as CEO of Sift, I should take on a challenge to support the charity, so came up with the crazy idea of running 150 miles in 4-weeks to try and raise some money. I'm not a runner and struggle with cardio fitness generally, so this will be a huge challenge for me. It equates to just over 5 miles every day for 4-weeks. I'll be tracking my progress via Strava - @TomDunkerley - if anyone would like to keep track!
So, where will any funds raised go:
All proceeds will go to Changes Bristol. The Coronavirus emergency is having a big impact on peoples mental health so charities like Changes Bristol are needed more than ever. This local mental health charity has adapted quickly to provide phone support and online services to meet the needs of our community. With a huge fall in fundraising income the charity has been left rather vulnerable, at a crucial time.
Any support you give would go to an amazing cause and help my motivation to get me to the goal of 150 miles in 4-weeks. As an additional incentive, anything you donate will be matched by Sift, doubling the overall fundraising total.
Thanks so much, wish me luck!
Tom
