We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I am running the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimers Research UK and because ever since I was young I wanted to take part and help raise money!

My Grandmother has suffered with Alzheimers and Dementia since 2008. Thankfully she has dealt with it and still has her amazing sense of humour and kind heart. Sadly she struggles with memory loss, confusion and needs almost constant care with day to day living.

Alzhiemers is a very complex disease and affects each person differently. It can be quite cruel and difficult to witness a loved one go through dementia, and for the patient it can be very lonely and scary. There is currently no cure or prevention for Alzheimers disease even with the huge amount of research, work, and efforts from experts globally. Money raised with help go towards finding a cure or prevention, gaining more knowledge of the disease and helping to find early diagnosis.

I hope so much that we can one day find a cure. And this marathon is my way of helping towards that goal!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
