Story
This year I am taking on two challenges in aid of Cure Parkinson's.
Jamie (my flatmate) and I are both running the London Marathon on April 23rd. Six weeks later I will also be attempting the Ventoux Club des Cinglés (“the crazed”) challenge in June by cycling up Mont Ventoux three times in a day (The cycle ride includes over 4400m of ascent, which is equivalent to half the height of Mount Everest).
My Dad (Simon Cooper) was diagnosed with Parkinson's 5 years ago at just 52 years old. His approach to living with the disease is inspiring as is his own contribution to slowing, stopping or reversing the disease alongside Cure Parkinson’s. The charity is remarkable; their continued and relentless drive to cure the disease is worth every bit of funding.
During his time with Parkinson's Dad has managed to continue his passion for sport, work and dad jokes and has invested in supporting others with the disease. Last year he was part of a group that raised over £300,000 for the Charity. Although that might put my target to shame I know that every penny will support the charity in its quest to "slow, stop or reverse the progression of Parkinson's".
