In 2014 I cycled from London to Paris in 4 days in memory of my brother Joe, who tragically and suddently took his own life at the age of 27. This year, on April 30th I will be doing it all again only this time in 24 hours. By raising money for the chosen charity i hope to raise awareness of suicide in young people under the age of 35.
Joe was always great to be around. From a young age he had all sort of hobbies and interests from theatre school, onto mountain biking but growing up through his early teens, he found a great interest in music. He was very passionate about the music he listened to and formed a number of bands in which he performed live shows on regular occasions. As a family and his friends, we would often watch him play. When he was at home, I could always hear him from his bedroom, playing his guitar and singing. There is no doubt in saying how talented he was. There was never a time we saw Joe without an interest he had such passion about, especially his gym training which he took great pride in. He was not only musically talented and greatly knowledgeable in the fitness industry but also had a knack to entertain. Joe was the life and soul of the party, the comedian, and he never failed to make anyone laugh. He always had something to share with everyone. He was an adaptable character who would get along with anyone no matter who they were or what they were interested in, Joe would always find a common ground. One thing he would share most was to see the funny side of every situation possible with his unique sense of humour. Joe’s Humorous outlook on life was inspirational and without failure he would always make anyone feel better whenever feeling down.
I know in my heart that he lived life to the full and had no limits on the fun he had. I know each and every person who knew Joe will no doubt have their own unique memory of him and something to share.
