Working with over 11,000 people with a sight impairment in Kent and surrounding areas, we’re one of the largest local sight loss charities in the UK. Our aims are to work to prevent avoidable sight loss, deliver excellent support services and help people to live independently.

Story

My name is Matthew and my Grandad is Henry Thomas (Tom) Bunyan, who sadly passed away on 17 May 2012.

Grandad had always been fit and healthy until recently. However, in the past eighteen months he had suffered with a condition known as an ocular pemphigoid, which eventually left him blind in his left eye.

Since the turn of this year, Grandad had been in a combination of hospitals weakened and ill from various infections, which we only recently discovered was as a result of skin cancer on the left side of his face, including behind his eye.

As a result, I am hoping to raise support for two charities in Tom's memory; Kent Association for the Blind, and Cancer Research UK. If you would to make a donation then please do so either on this page or the following:
