Running in memory of Nan 

This April 23rd I’ll be running the London Marathon for Alzheimer's Society, a charity extremely close to my heart. We lost my dear Nan Pauline in 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

I want to raise vital funds so that hopefully others don’t have to go through the same thing in years to come.

Nan was a strong, beautiful, caring woman. Born the daughter of Irish immigrants in London, and the youngest of 7 siblings, she had to be a personality! 

She’d always want to fix you food and a cup of tea every time you walked through the front door! She would not take no for answer even if you’d just had a three course meal 

Seeing her deteriorate over the few years before her passing was heart breaking. And that is something I wish no person, or family to experience.

I know times are tough and please do not feel obliged to get involved but if you can spare even the smallest donation, I’d be truly grateful.

The progress in treating, preventing, and hopefully one day curing this disease has been remarkable in recent history. Let’s keep striving towards a world without Alzheimer’s 

Oh… and just so you know. I’m currently running 4 sessions a week, in mostly cold, dark, or rainy conditions. It’s not pleasant! If you don’t fancy sponsoring me for running a marathon, why not sponsor me for the 500+ km’s I’m running in the build up to it
