Story
I (along with some colleagues) am walking 100km from London to Brighton and I have decided to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. I will be doing this in one hit, starting on Saturday 28th May and walking through the day and night to finish at some point on Sunday 29th May.
Prostate cancer has had a huge impact on my family - having lost two elderly relatives to this horrible disease over the past few years. One of those people was my grandad, Norman, who, for those people fortunate enough to have known him, was the kindest and most amazing man to ever live. I owe a lot to my grandad and he will be with me every step of the way. He would have called me daft for attempting this challenge but I made a habit of trying to do things that I knew would wind him up. The other member of our family sadly no longer with us was my grandad’s brother Bill. He was larger than life and loved being with the family and helping us younger generation cause mischief.
Initially, I thought this would be as simple as putting one foot in front of the other for an extended period of time but realistically, that isn't going to be the case. It is going to be a very testing journey but with the views over the north and south downs and the support of friends and family, it will all be worth while (British weather depending).
Please help me in raising as much money as possible towards this fantastic charity who are working so hard to help fight prostate cancer :)
