Story
For the second year in row, I am running the London Marathon tomorrow, Sunday 28 April 2019. In 2018, I completed the course in 3.49 hrs and will be looking to better that time this year, despite being a year older and have been prone to injuries! I have chosen the opportunity to raise some much needed and much appreciated funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
The Gurkha Welfare Trust was founded in 1969. Since inception, it has provided welfare to Gurkha veterans, their dependants and their communities to help them live their lives with dignity. The core of the Trust's work has always been the Welfare Pension to the Gurkha veterans, widows and some of their dependants who do not have a formal pension. The trust also offers comprehensive medical and community programmes across Nepal - the trust provided significant funding to reconstruct areas of Nepal following the devastating earthquakes in 2015; QG SIGNALS raised a staggering amount of money circa£142k, the Col Comdt Bde of Gurkhas, Gen NAW Pope CBE Received a cheque on behalf of the trust.
No amount is too small - every donation makes a real difference to the Gurkha veterans and their families who are in real need. Thank you so much for your generous donation - truly humbled and grateful.
