Story
Thank you for taking a moment to help me raise money for this amazing charity!
On the 30th January 2023 I will be setting off on an approx. 190-mile solo trek across England. Following the famous Coast to Coast route devised by Alfred Wainwright in 1973. It will take me roughly 10 to 12 days, with the route taking me across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors National Parks.
Most people tragically have someone they know who have been affected by suicide. The more we talk about this topic, the more we lessen the stigma surrounding being able to reach out and talk to someone.
Every £5 raised has the power to answer a potentially life-saving call.
A bit about me:
I'm a Firefighter and Army Reservist.
I've witnessed my friends and colleagues struggle through tough times, and sadly I've known friends and colleagues who've taken their lives.
I personally believe there's a stigma with suicide, which make people worried or uncomfortable to talk about it, thinking their friends may judge them or their employment may be affected.
My hope is that with this fundraising, the money raised can help the Samaritans with the amazing work they do. And also, even if people aren't able to donate, by merely sharing this link, they're helping to create a bigger conversation on suicide prevention.
