Story
We are Police Officers currently in training for Essex Police. As part of our 18 weeks of training we are tasked with raising as much money as possible for a charity close to both Essex and our hearts. We have decided to raise money for The Sick Children's Trust, in particular Chestnut House at The Rosie Hospital after a member of our class told us the story of the birth of his first child. The Rosie Hospital is a class 3 hospital in which all babies born in Essex pre 29 weeks will be moved to receive intensive care in their NICU unit.
Toby was born in August 2016 at 25 weeks and 4 days, 15 weeks early. As a result of being born so early he suffered from a multitude of issues which he is still recovering from to this day. Fortunately during his lengthy stay in hospital Toby's parents were able to stay close by thanks to The Sick Children's Trust. They supported his family for free by offering accommodation, counselling, advice and support, at a time when they needed it most, a true 'home from home'. Without the support given, Toby's family would not have been able to be with him 24 hours a day when he truly needed it most. Below is an article written by Cambridge News which explains in more detail the challenging start to life Toby had:

In supporting such a great cause you are allowing families like Toby's to be with their babies as they go through some of the hardest and agonising times of their lives. To put it into perspective it costs The Sick Children's Trust £30 a night to host a family, so every donation counts towards this amazing charity.
To raise money for The Sick Children's Trust we have decided to play one continuous game of football from 10am Saturday 10th of June for 24 hours, no easy task! We are using this page to collect donations to be presented to the charity at our pass out parade in June.
We appreciate your support and thank you,
