Story
At 4.10pm on Wednesday 25th March 2020, a beautiful light left our lives. Our Toby, our strong fighter could fight no more!
During the 16 short weeks from diagnosis until Toby's passing, Toby's journey was not an easy one, but he kept going. He stayed determined and brave faced. Held his lovely chin high, kept his best foot forward and always calmly dealing with everything that was thrown at him. His gentlemanly strong but sensitive sweet nature was respected, loved and admired by many.
The last 13 days of Toby's too short and precious life was spent at the Marie Curie Hospice at Hampstead, London a place of peacefulness gentleness and calm, where Toby was cared for and respected by all that worked there. The doctors, nurses and care staff took their time to be respectful, showed compassion, empathy and kindness. Indeed a very fitting tribute for this beautiful man who certainly deserved nothing less. Toby wanted to have the care afforded to him acknowledged and in Toby's good name and honour we would like to ask all those who loved, knew and admired Toby to please dig deep into your pockets and lets raise as much as we can for this very worthwhile place, Toby's last home where he was made to feel welcome and where nothing was too much trouble.
The Marie Curie Hospice at Hampstead relies solely on fundraising and has been caring for people with serious illnesses in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington for more than 60 years, now every single day at the hospice is an extraordinary day. And every moment is precious. The hospice nurses, doctors and therapists provide the best possible care for people with serious illnesses, and offer vital emotional support for them and their families. The hospice is a warm, welcoming place where loved ones can be together in peaceful surroundings and in as much comfort as possible. Whether it's for one day or several weeks, the time people spend at the hospice is precious, and is cherished by them and their families.Thank you for supporting us in Toby's memory and good name, lets help them to help make sure more people with a terminal illness in North London get the care and support they need.
Our sincerest thanks in advance for your kind donations in lieu of flowers or if you would like to raise funds in Toby's memory, it truly is appreciated.
Much love to you all, Nikki, Liz and all the family xxx
