Story
Los tres Normanton triplets have foolishly signed up to run the Marathon des Sables (“MDS”) in just over 10 days... Not content with just being the first triplets ever to have born under an epidural caesarian, we aim to become the first set of triplets to complete the MDS (to our limited and often shaky knowledge)!
A medical marvel we may or may not be, but we intend to explore the boundaries of our own sanity and each other’s by subjecting ourselves to 6 long, hot days running in the Sahara desert. For those of you less familiar with the Marathon des Sables – it is advertised as the “toughest footrace in the world". Although the route remains a closely guarded secret until the day before the start we expect to cover over 250km, self-supported, with the added treat of running the equivalent of a double marathon on one day.
We have chosen to run the MDS and are inspired to raise funds for a cause that is close to our hearts - with multiple family members having recently been affected by cancer we are keener than ever to help support the fight for a cure. As such we will be running for Cancer Research UK and we’d like to emphasise that 100% of funds raised will go directly to charity.
Donations of any size will be warmly and gratefully received and we thank you in advance for your support.
The race starts on April 10th, nearer to the time we will share a link to track our progress (or lack there of it)...
