Update 07/03/10: I ran it in 01:57:54, beating my target of 2 hours :-D
Thanks so much for your sponsorship; it really helped get me round the course.
The most I've ever run before is a couple of miles in school cross country some years ago, so this is a big personal challenge, particularly as I don't enjoy running!
I have decided to run in support of the RNLI, "the charity that saves lives at sea". They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales. As a keen sailor, I'm very aware of the amazing work they do and would like to help them to continue saving lives; a figure now at 137,000 since the charity was founded.
Receiving no funds from the government, and with all lifeboats manned by volunteers, donations and legacies are vital to keep the service running. They may save your life one day.
Please dig deep to support this worthy cause.
If you're around in Bath on 7th March then come down and support!
cheers
Toby
