Bath Half Marathon 2011 · 6 March 2011 ·

Proudly serving the community of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire since 1987, we provide specialist palliative & end-of-life care to people facing a terminal illness. We're committed to giving families choices about the care they receive, providing the best support at home & at the Hospice.

Story

Thank you everyone for your sponsorships. I completed the course only 7 minutes slower than last year, despite barely being able to see anything and overheating!

I have decided to run this year in memory of Gerry/Gumpy, my grandfather; who sadly passed away in November '09 after contracting cancer for the second time.

He spent his final few weeks at Thames Hospicecare, where his last weeks were made as comfortable as possible for him. The centre doesn't charge for its services, and relies on donations from people like you to keep it going.

You may be aware that I ran last year in aid of the RNLI, and thank you again to everyone who donated. So, how to up the ante? Simple. By running dressed as a crocodile! In fact, on my JustGiving page last year, someone wrote "Good Luck! I'll give you more money if you do it in your aligator costume! ;)". So that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Please dig deep to support Thames Hospicecare, and help Croc get round the course :-)
