Story
My beautiful dad Mondo passed away on Saturday 29th July at Manorlands Hospice. The hardest day of my life by far but made so much easier by the incredible staff at Manorlands. There are a few of us taking part in the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Worth Valley on Saturday 7 October to raise money for them as the care they provided to my lovely father was invaluable and incredibly needed. As a family we could absolutely not have got through those dark days without it
A group of family and friends will walk 10k under the stars to remember him and raise funds to help create a future where everyone has access to care and support at the end of their life 💙
This will be a fantastic night for everyone, walking under the stars, remembering our incredible Mondo. With entertainment on route and featuring the incredible Starlight Express train ride, this will be a truly special and memorable night.
On the night
6.00pm - Registration begins from Oxenhope Railway Station
7.00pm - First 10k train leaves the station for Oakworth
7.30pm - Second and final 10k train leaves the station for Oakworth
A few of us listed below are doing the walk together and fundraising on this page - if we can raise just £150 per person we will hit our target. Raising money on behalf of the amazing Mondo are:
Tobi & Josh Hardisty
Charlotte Osbourne
Sally Emmott
Claire Jowett

Sadly, almost all of us will experience the loss of a loved one - your support can help more people get the end-of-life and bereavement care they need and deserve. - £25 could help fund an hour of expert care and help fill another family's final days with love- £42 could go towards grief counselling sessions for people coming to terms with the loss of a loved one. - £63 could go towards training a nurse to provide end-of-life care.Sue Ryders specialist teams provide expert and compassionate care, which means the end of peoples lives can be filled with friendship, family and love in their final moments together.
