Story
We are supporting Blesma in memory of Jack Davies, a young man from Loughborough I was fortunate enough to meet, who was seriously injured in 2009 while serving in Afghanistan.
Jack, serving with the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, had been in Afghanistan for just four days when a roadside bomb exploded inches from where he was standing. Surgeons at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham had to remove his leg. He also suffered spinal damage, a broken pelvis and damaged tendons in his hand.
Jack died in 2013.
To raise money for this great cause, I along with my eldest brother and two close friends are walking the entire National Forest Way, which extends 75 miles (120km) from the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to Beacon Hill Country Park in Loughborough, Leic's.
We will begin our walk from the NMA at first light Saturday May 02, and continue until we reach Loughborough - hopefully by Sunday pm !
I realise that requests for donations come thick and fast, but this really is a great cause, please give if you can - every little helps !
Sincere thanks for all of your support.
