On the 17th June, 3 members of the Tonbridge Juddians family will be spending two weeks in Kolkata, working in conjunction with the charity group Future Hope, to provide rugby clinics and games for street children of Kolkata.
"Every night in Kolkata children can be found sleeping alone and vulnerable on station platforms and in the surrounding areas. They are without their parents, thin and unkempt. Many are ill, all are vulnerable and most are exposed to serious forms of exploitation. They have little or no ability to change their lives."
Due to the nature of the charity, funding is minimal, which is were we need your help. Steve Farr (1st XV Coach), Melanie Underhill (1st XV Womens Captain) and Toby Martin (1st XV Player) have the monumental task of raising their flights, accomodation and living allowances in a short period of time. we ask you, members of TJRFC to dig deep, support a wonderful cause, and help in the enrichment of many lives. Every penny counts, and every dontation will be graciously received.
"Sport, and rugby in particular, has always played a major role in Future Hope and it is through sport that we have been able to develop discipline and a sense of purpose in many of our children. Children of Future Hope have played at the highest level winning national honours representing India in Rugby"
