Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having supported others in the Great Swim series I was encouraged to try it myself. Not being the best swimmer I started doing breast stroke with a rubbish style and head above water. I've progressed to breathing underwater and freestyle but still need a rest when doing the crawl for any distance! I'm up to 56 lengths so nearly at my mile (64) but have the added challenge of wearing a wetsuit, swimming with another 100 people and all that weed and spooky stuff in the water! It'll probably be raining too but you only get wet once....
I've chosen the British Polio Fellowship to donate any sponsorship to as those affected by it deserve any assistance they wish to seek... My hero is my dad, he contracted polio as a baby and through his life has not once complained nor has it affected our lives. He just inspires me more to get on and do things without complaint and without asking for help when there are others more in need. My Dad has coached my brother and I, demonstrated strength and fortitude and to this day has always maintained that there is nothing you cannot do if you put your mind to it. This is not for my Dad (he'll tell me off just for writing this), but for all he stands for.....
