Just a bike helmet to buy then I think I am ready! Really looking forward to this now! Thank You to those who have supported already and a big please, PLEASE, please dig deep to find those pennies to those who are thinking about it. We are raising funds for a nurse to be able to visit and tend to children's care needs at home whom may not reach their 19th birthday. Families receive Shooting Star Chase's support free of charge, 365 days a year in their own homes and communities at at their children's hospices. With no guaranteed Government funding, sponsorship and donations are vital.

After some logistical thought, Myself and my Auntie Pauline, are thinking of both doing 24miles (48 miles between us) with the hope that if I have the stamina, I may choose to finish the race at 40 miles. George will also be an influential factor seeing as he is "mummy fed". I am currently fundraising/ searching sponsors like mad as this is such a worthwhile cause and also learning the route. Today was spent at Chase hospice with Grace, George, Pauline, and Melanie. Grace enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, a one to one music session, marble painting, a yummy lunch as well as playing with the extensive amount of toys! All in one day!! Weather, please stop raining so that I can go on a bike ride today! :)

I now have a bike :) All I need to do now is train! Did a 6 mile cycle ride with husband and children (pull along trailer via hubby pulling on back of his bike) It was tough going! Especially the hilly parts. Woke up the next day fully refreshed but will a sore bottom!

Now have the hard task of looking to buy a (cheap-being the operative word) specialist mountain bike to train and compete with...

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This charity is very dear to our hearts. Their help is very important to us as a family and our Daughter Grace who has a rare chronic aggressive disease / illness called Takayasu's Arteritis. To those who know us well, know we have been through a great ordeal for the past two years. Although we do not currently choose to use the charity for its respite care as Grace is well in herself for the moment, we find that visiting "Christophers" at Chase Hospice with Grace be it for a swimming session (pool is warmer/ grace is immune suppressed-so she cannot visit regular pools) or for "little chasers" a baby and toddler group or for a visit with Graces assigned fab carer "Melanie"-to whom we would be lost without, is very beneficial to Graces wellbeing, health and happiness. We are truely grateful and this is the main reason why we want to give something back and to also help the children less fortunate health wise than Grace by raising the funds needed (£36,000) for a Paediatric Nurse so that children from the hospice can maintain their care at home.

I am aiming to complete a 40 mile  Hospice to Hospice bike ride in aid of Shooting Star Chase on Sunday, 30 September 2012 at 09:15am.

I will be starting at Christopher's Hospice in Guildford then via Bridge House Fundraising Office in Addlestone following on to Shooting Star House hospice in Hampton and then finally to Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

It has been recommended that I aim to raise £60, (60x600 riders) ideally id like to raise three times this to help push this to the targeted £36,000.

So please, help me fundraise for this worthy cause by donating as little or as much as you can.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Ps: Please feel free to come along to cheer me on or hop on a bike  (there are still some places left) and join in by fundraising with me :)

Many thanks in advance for donating to this worthy cause.

Kindest Thanks and Regards,

Mrs Tina Slack.
