Story
We are 'The Holywell Green Peaky Climbers'. Some of the staff from Holywell Green Primary School have decided to take on the 'one peak challenge' in aid of our local Overgate Hospice. Our team will be Mrs Jenny Norcliffe, Miss Kate Barton, Miss Tracy Southernwood, Mrs Tina Young and Mr & Mrs John & Tina Read. We will be walking/hiking/hobbling up Ingleborough Peak in the Yorkshire Dales.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, like so many charities, Overgate Hospice have suffered due to lack of fundraising. Overgate Hospice is a truly amazing place, offering help and care for people with life-limiting illnesses, but they need events like this to raise their awareness and much needed funds.
We would be delighted if you feel you would be able to donate to our fund for Overgate, your donations and kind words will ensure we make it to the top of Ingleborough xxx
Here are a few words from Overgate Hospice :-
Overgate Hospice provides expert care, support, advice and information for patients and their families, carers and loved ones living with life-limiting illnesses. Living with a life-limiting illness can affect a person in many ways. After being referred to us we will work in partnership with the patient to provide the care and support depending on their individual needs. All of our medical and nursing care is provided by a highly qualified and skilled team who will work with the patient to ensure they receive a high standard of care. Our team of doctors and nurses can help relieve a persons symptoms, including pain management and fatigue, along with our Patient and Family Support Team who can help with adjusting to day-to-day life living with an illness. We also offer Bereavement Support, Carers Group and a Drop-In Service. All our services are free of charge and are available to people living in the Calderdale area who are over 18 years old.
We know we cannot add days to life but we can add life in to days.
