Stapenhill Memory Walk · 3 September 2016
Memory Walk sees thousands of people raising money for a world without dementia across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
People of all ages and abilities join in, from grandparents to grandchildren, and even furry four-legged friends. We all walk together to celebrate loved ones affected by dementia, and raise money to reclaim the future.
Our walk in Stapenhill will start at the car park near the church and move along the river towards the rowing club and then out onto Trent bridge which we will cross before going down into the washlands again and past the library before going over the bridge, past the playground and out across the rugby pitch and onto the bridge which then leads us back into Stapenhill gardens, past the giant swan and back to the car park.
I will be taking my dog Tommy and as anyone who knows him will tell you this means the pace will be slow and steady so we will take along a drink and maybe even some cakes.
Originally I thought I might be walking alone but I am VERY happy to know lots of people want to join me - this means I will be letting the council know and then I might even set the status of this event to public on Facebook - it would be great to raise as much cash and awareness as we can :) In the meantime feel free to invite friends and family to get involved.
There are t'shirts available and even ones for dogs which I will be making use of and I will add details of these later to our event page on Facebook so everyone can get kitted out.
Anyone who is unable to walk is welcome to come and give support.
This is a great cause so please either join me or sponsor us :)
