Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided to undertake the 870 mile challenge following a love of walking gained as a consequence of lockdown and the crazy way we have had to change our lives this year. I found a combination of being outside and surrounded by nature and walking made me appreciate the simplicity of life and has contributed to my mental wellbeing. The challenge started on July 13th and whilst I have until 12th July next year, 13 weeks in I am over half way and I can think of no better way than to finish on the top of Snowdon (weather dependant)
Why have I waited until now to raise money for charity? Today is World mental health day #worldmentalhealthday2020 and the start of #agmentalhealth week and the reason for choosing this charity is the impact mental health has had on my immediate family, a Welsh farming family.
I have seen how the symptoms of mental health not only impact the person suffering but their immediate & wider family and their friendship group. When the light is on life is better than OK, but when the light is off and it is dark it is hard, very hard for the person suffering and those around. Words or actions do not help and you have to wait, being non- judgemental or sometimes silent for the light to turn on again. #itsokaytonotbeokay.
I would be so grateful if you could spare a pound or two to allow my chosen charity to help and support those people in our rural communities who feel they need it, the very people who have kept up provided with food over our pandemic
Thank you / Diolch x
