Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May, I will be taking part in the Ride 100 cycle race - 100 miles around London & Essex, with a fair few hills chucked in for good measure.
Why?
I will be doing this to raise money for MDS which is a charity that is very close to my family. My uncle John (pictured above) was diagnosed with MDS a number of years ago and unfortunately for everyone who knew him, he eventually passed away from it. MDS is a rare disease, it took a long time to diagnose him with it, despite him being ill for a number of years. Uncle John was a right character, always the life and soul of a party, always had a gag and a ton of bants, you really had to be on the ball whenever you were with him, or he'd take you to the cleaners. MDS took him away from us far too early. He was only 68 years old. John's wife, Christine, has worked tirelessly for the charity ever since, and she's forced me into taking part in this preposterous race, to try to raise awareness for the disease and to try to help to raise some funds.
Please help me out, not least cos if I don't make the target I'll have to pay the balance as well as ride the race.
Cheers
Tim
