We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Jon Seymour who was a good friend of ours died of a brain tumour on 17.08.11 aged just 40 years old, leaving behind hundreds of friends and family, including a wife and two young daughters (aged 7 & 5 at the time).

A number of Jon’s friends have joined together to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in his memory.

Brain Tumour Research is woefully under-funded.  Did you know …?

·         Brain Tumour Research receives less than 1% (0.7%) of national cancer spending in the UK

·         20% of all cancers spread to the brain

·         Brain tumours are the biggest killers of UK children

·         More people under 40 die from brain tumours than from any other cancer

We are undertaking a circa 35 mile bike ride, to include scaling the infamous Box Hill (part of the Olympic route).  The majority of us are not regular cyclists, so this is going to prove tough going!

Please support our efforts by donating as much as you can to this worthy cause.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
