Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son, Matt Gilbert, died of cancer last year aged 19. The care he received in hospital was very good, but he was on an adult ward during his care and most of the other patients were considerably older than him - and indeed me - so he had little in common with them. The Teenage and Young Adults fund has been set up with the aim of "providing age appropriate facilities & support for patients aged 17-25" at the Plymouth Derriford Hospital. My target is to raise £500 or more by losing 2 stone (28lb) in 14 weeks.

I started on 10 March 2014 weighing 17st and 4lb. I finished the diet on 16 June 2014 weighing 14st 13lb, a total weight loss of 2st 5lb (or 33lb) exceeding the target by 5lb.

Thank you to all who sponsored me in this endeavour, and if anyone who has not sponsored me wishes to donate, please do.  Next step, training myself to get fit for the next Plymouth half marathon!
