Story
Let's start with WHY...
As a member of the Board at The Wesley Foundation and a Chair of The Wesley Foundation Gala I know the challenges that The Wesley Community are facing right now. One challenge is our Annual Gala event that raises over $100,000 every year being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another challenge is the drastic increase in costs related to testing residents and staff.
The Wesley Community team has done an absolutely incredible job in the face of unprecedented times. Critical decisions were made strategically and early to protect the vulnerable senior community and its staff and the results have proven their actions to be the right ones.
The everyday, extraordinary effort it takes to offer the high level care that The Wesley Community does is the reason I am on The Wesley Foundation Board. As a not for profit organization, donations and community support are very important to continuing the heart-warming care that is needed.
I am very honored to be a part of such a great organization. However, I am not so proud of my current status as an athlete (which I was once upon a time!). In 2011, coming up on 10 years ago I ran the NYC Marathon. That may be the last sighting of the athletic and fit Tim. I am determined to get back to marathon shape and healthier than ever.
I need help in achieving this goal. A LOT OF HELP! I am starting 6/19/2020 at the bottom of this great climb with a goal of running another marathon. The Wesley Foundation is launching Share a Step For Seniors which is a Virtual Fitness Event. This program will be a great step in online fundraising for The Wesley Community which will be very important for the future of The Wesley Foundation. Share a Step for Seniors is a Virtual challenge of tackling the Peaks of the Adirondack Park and will take place during the week of June 19th to June 26th. For me, this week will be my first steps towards reaching the peak of a marathon. I will be running a marathon in the summer of 2021. I will be tracking my training on my facebook page and encourage you to follow along and push me through each challenge I'll face.
The Wesley Foundation truly needs support in launching a new fundraising effort in such a difficult time and I desperately need your support in pushing me to get back to marathon shape and through 26.2 Miles! Please consider a donation and investing in The Wesley Community and the Former Athlete, Tim!
