Story
The Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals with treatments ranging from A&E to various Cancers. I am raising funds over the next 6 months, as part of the the WEX Europe team to support the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Room with a View Challenge.
Through this challenge we will raise funds to enable the delivery of a high-tech distraction system into a specialist treatment room. This distraction system creates an immersive experience that calms a child undergoing treatment by projecting videos and sounds onto the walls of the treatment room (to see more click here: ttps://vimeo.com/272770606 .)
To raise funds, I am one of 8-person team on our own challenge - climbing the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in early June. The challenge will cover a total of 23 miles and an ascent of 3064 metres (10, 052 ft), beginning at Ben Nevis in Scotland and will end 24 hours later at Snowdon in Wales. The hike will be a physical and mental challenge, but I am excited by the challenge.
To motivate and support me through the challenge, I am asking my friends, family, colleagues and the broader community to donate to this outstanding cause. Each member of the team has a personal target of £2,000 which will contribute to our total target of £30,000.
All funds raised will go directly to Alder Hey, with no contributions going towards the cost of the hike.
